Our fire engines

DaRTS (Disaster and Rescue Transport Specialists) have been very busy designing and building new eco-friendly fire trucks. They will be used for small fires and emergencies.

Our visit to Diss Fire Station

Last week we walked down to Diss fire station.

The firemen told us all about the equipment on the fire engines.

Some of us dressed up as firemen!

We heard the sirens. They were very loud.

We all had a go at squirting water.

Lily, Douglas and Arthur enjoyed the trip too!

Thank you to our brilliant fire fighters. We had a fab trip!

Fire engine designers

First we researched fire engines, to find out what they need. We learned all about wheels and axles.

Then we created designs, ready to make a fire engine. Here is a sample of them.

Fire engine poetry

The children in 2/1 K have written some lovely fire engine poems. Here is Jenson's.

Black chunky wheels are racing down the road.

Grumbling down the road.

Gushing water.

Flashing,

Flashing.

Come in and read them on the class display board.

Beebot fun

We have been learning about directions in maths. We have programmed beebots to go around tracks.

We have also been harvesting some fields.
